ERC Promoters Hit the Dirty Dozen
As we have posted in the past, the IRS continues to step up their efforts to eliminate suspect ERC promoters
The IRS is concerned about promoters who are “blasting ads on radio and the internet touting refunds involving Employee Retention Credits”. The major concern of the IRS is promoters pushing claims that are not valid and not communicating to taxpayers that wages used for PPP loan forgiveness do not qualify for ERC and addback of the ERC credit into income and the requirement for amended tax returns.
“The IRS reminds all taxpayers that the willful filing of false information and fraudulent tax forms can lead to serious civil and criminal penalties.”
This post is just a reminder to be careful of any promoters that you may hear on the radio or see ads on the internet. Any of those promises of easy refunds are likely false. Be very careful.
